Wow! Carys just turned 18 on Friday, May 30, 2025. She graduates from high school in a week and we are off on an adventure. Anyone who knows the Lindseys knows that we love a road trip and exploring with a very loose itenerary. This trip will be a little different in that it's not a big destination trip, but one where we will travel through northern states in the U.S. to look for the great Romanov Dynasty eggs.

A quick Google search will reveal who the Romanov family are (including Anastasia) and why these eggs are so cool and such a big part of their history. Carys has had a fascination with this family and the history of the Romanov Dynasty for a long time. She also shares her birthday with Carl Fabrage, the creator of these gorgeous eggs. Now, describing something as "Fabrage" is like saying "it came from Tiffany's" here in the U.S. Technically, he didn't design all the eggs, but he put his approval on them to call them Fabrage.

In Virginia, we can boast owning 5 eggs which are in the Virginia Meuseum of Fine Art in Richmond; somewhere I have visited many times over my life. Carys and I have shared that experience two or three times together. She also took a class trip to the museum last year. She LOVES it, (except for the mummy and the Indian gods and goddess statues. Too many arms and eyes for her to process.) We took her to D.C last summer to Hillwood, the home of Marjorie Merriwether Post (you know, the cereal heiress) where there are two such eggs. Beautiful jewel encrusted eggs!

This trip will take us north into new territory and an exciting family adventure! Follow us as we hunt for the fabulous Easter eggs!
